Christianity? Christianity is the belief that God is our one and only true God, that he and him alone made our world with his bare hands and His Son, Jesus Christ. God made man and animal, light and dark, water and land. We have faith that God gave his only Son to save our world from all sin that has destroyed us. The rise of christianity came from the origins of christianity, the wonderful life of Jesus, and the spread of it all helps you to understand.
The story of Christianity rose up to prominence which became a remarkable one, but the traditional story of the progression from a small, persecuted religion to the established religion in the Roman Empire. In the meantime, the Roman Empire weakened and crumbled, a new force called Christianity developed within itself. One of the many components that contributed to the fall of the Roman Empire was the rise of this recent religion. Therefore in Encyclopædia Britannica, “To understand the life and death of Jesus and the birth of Christianity, one must understand the context of the Roman Empire” (“Christianity”). The spread of Christianity was made a lot easier by the capability of the Roman Empire, despite the thriving popularity Christianity’s principles sometimes were misunderstood and membership could be dangerous. Christianity became powerful and more organized than the ancient Roman culture and soon became the new Rome. Christianity was one of the fastest spreading religions of all time. For example in HISTORY.com, “Christianity is the most widely practiced religion in the world, with more than 2 billion followers” (“Christianity’’). Christians have claimed that the world was prepared for the coming of Jesus Christ. To be a Christian during the fall of the Roman Empire would not be a delightful time to live. Christians committed their lives, minds, hearts and souls to God. Doing this people were often persecuted because of those actions they did. After the sad death of Jesus is when Christianity began to bloom rapidly.
Mary, the mother of Jesus, was indeed a virgin when she gave birth. She was a willing servant who trusted God and also obeyed His call. Her life held immense honor. Also required great suffering, sadly. There was joy in motherhood like every mother in the world, but there was pain in the privilege of being the mother of Jesus our Lord our savior. She responded to God with obedience and submission to His plan he wanted her to accomplish. Her life never stripped Jesus of His glory to the world. Her mission was to witness the glory of the Son of God. On BBC.com they inform us about the story of Jesus, “The traditional story of Jesus tells of his birth in a stable in Bethlehem in the Holy Land, to a young virgin named Mary who had become pregnant with the son of God through the action of the Holy Spirit” (“The Basics of Christian History’’). Jesus’s life is told through the four Gospels which are called New Testament Bible, written by John, Mark, Luke and Matthew. They are written to generate faith in Jesus and the incarnation of God. In US HISTORY.com, “Jesus began to teach in the Jewish tradition. He preached love and tolerance and he was also believed to have performed miracles of healing the sick, walking on water, and even raising the dead” (“Birth of Christianity’’).
Christianity spreaded across the world. In BBC.com, “Paul began to spread Christianity ideas more to non-Jews. Many of the poor, destitute people in the region took solace in the notions of a loving god and a life after death” (“The Basics of Christian History’’). The spread began when Jesus came back to life after his death. In US History.com, “This history of Christianity is focussed on the life, death and resurrection of one person, Jesus Christ, the son of God” (“Birth of Christianity’’). People finally got the taste of reality. The truth of life through Jesus. People finally understood the meaning of life.
